LOGAN FAMILY CEMETERY
Located on the east side of S. Muckshaw Rd., near W. 14C Rd., opposite the residence of Clarence Zehner, Green Township, Marshall County, Indiana.
In the spring of 1977, this cemetery was destroyed by bulldozing, leaving no trace of its existence. Francis Richards, land owner, was cited for its destruction. On or about 17 February, 1978, on complaint of Mary Durnan, Director of the Marshall County Historical Museum, Mr. Richards was fined in the Plymouth City Court in the amount of $25 and $28 costs for the charge of "defacing or removing tombstones." NORRIS, John and Widow Lydia George Norris
John, d. 1848 )
Lydia, d. 1846 ) Moved to Poplar Grove
Both born in the State of Vermont. He served in the War of 1812 and name appears in roster in Vermont, from Corinth. [4]
Mr. Norris was one of first twenty permanent settlers in Green and Union Townships. He settled in 1837, squatter's rights; therefore not appearing in abstract records of the present Whitney Kline farm in Union Township. The marker is a large rock with a brass plaque erected in 1925 by his descendants in Elkhart and Marshall Counties.
