Louise Kale
Feb.
2, 1929-Jan. 26, 2009
Mary Louise KALE, 79, of
Born in
Mary was a proud graduate of the Talma
High School Class of 1947. On Oct. 15, 1950, she married her best friend,
Robert H. Kale. Their union of 47 1/2 years yielded a beautiful family of four
children - Beth, Sharon, Donn and Tom. The family tree further expanded with
the additions of seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She did clerical work for Chester
White.
The family's matriarch, Mary was noted
for her abilities as a baker. Her forte was delectable chocolate chip, peanut
butter, snickerdoodles and iced sugar cookies that she blended and baked for
birthdays and special holidays. The sugar cream pies she created were
extraordinary.
A family tradition shared by Mary -
handed down for four generations - was the secret recipe for making noodles.
The technique of rolling and cutting them with perfection was also overseen by
Mary, always meeting her expectations.
Mary was a devoted member of
She also belonged to the Home Front
Club.
Summertime brought on many of Mary's
favorite things including cheering on the Chicago Cubs and making homemade ice
cream. She also enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate her patriotism by flying
the flag each day.
Mary's two favorite days of the week
were Sunday, providing her the opportunity to attend worship service and share
in Sunday School class, and Monday, girls day out game day. This day provided
great times and spirited games with daughter Beth and special friends Esther,
Helen, Chris and Barbara. A variety of card games, dominos and Rummy cubes were
among the group's best loved games.
Game time was also enjoyed as a family
event at times of celebration and the holidays. Trivial Pursuit and various
board games offered challenges to keep the group sharp. It was Christmas
evening 2008 that Mary and the family played till past 9 p.m. Mary deeply
enjoyed the special music of the Big Band Era - especially the music of the
Glen Miller orchestra.
Mary leaves behind a great legacy to
cherish many wonderful memories - her four loving children, seven adoring
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, her Baptist church family, the
Monday game buddies and the many friends she made along the pathways of life's
journey.

Dec.

Edna E. Mooney SMITH, 95, of 2119 Boulevard St.,
She was born in
She retired from Chamberlin Products,
Edna was a remarkable lady who
exhibited focus, strength, courage and faith even when confronted with the most
challenging moments and greatest adversity of her wonderful life. The tragic
death of her first husband, John Mooney, left her with five young children to
provide for and rear. The times were not easy at the conclusion of World War
II. Living in their quaint, east central
As a role model for her children, Edna
instilled a strong work ethic, perseverance and goal setting as benchmarks for
the groundwork for her children as active learners. These convictions cemented
the family into a close-knit group while she conveyed through example life's
necessary tools, positioning them for success later in life.
Until recent years, as she arrived at
her ninth decade of life, it was Edna who insisted on the total preparation of
the traditional Christmas holiday feast for her loving family. Cooking like no
one else with a Mother's touch, everything was created to perfection. She
continued, in the most recent years, to make her delectable banana pudding,
allowing other family members to pitch in with the festive dinner.
Mrs. Edna E. Smith, a loving mom,
special sister and devoted and proud grandma commanded the attention of five
generations of adoring members of her family tree. They will remember her for
her passion for family, with unending love, as a pillar of strength. With her
twinkling blue eyes, she leaves her great family legacy, many friends she met
along life's journey and her Whippoorwill church family to cherish her memory.
She is survived by two daughters,
Cleda Janke, Indianapolis, and Faye Grubbs and husband Max, Warsaw; a son, Jim
Mooney and wife Nancy, Rochester; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12

As a loyal devoted employee at Topps
Safety Apparel, Janet was a seamstress. She totally loved going to work and
sharing in the camaraderie, treasuring her many friends she regarded as
extended family. With a remarkable work ethic she continued her dedication to
Topps until her retirement at age 75, just four months ago.
An accomplished seamstress, Janet will
be remembered especially for her creativity in making custom dolls, from
Cabbage Patch to Raggedy Ann & Andy, for Kelly and Kerry. She also created
clothing for Barbie dolls. As the children grew up, "Mom" always kept
them clothed, with her special designs. To relax, in her spare time she enjoyed
reading mysteries and playing the piano was a source of great satisfaction. Her
garden provided summertime activities from the planting to canning. Janet
shared the harvest of sweet corn, tomatoes and beans with her family and
special friends.
Janet was one of seven children. The
importance of family was instilled in Janet as a young woman. The significance
of family was carried on and reflected by her as the matriarch of the Riffle
family. Holidays were paramount as Janet embraced each holiday celebration
preparing special meals for all to enjoy. Sugar and Spice, her domestic
short-haired felines, were also important family members.

inspirational poetry on the importance of and simplicity of life.

Randall H. Furnivall
Dec. 31, 1951 - May 7, 2009
Randall H. "Munchkin" FURNIVALL, 57, of
On Dec. 31, 1951, Randall H. Furnivall was born to Donald

Dec. 22, 1974, in
Randy's life story begins on a unique note. He was born 3
1/2 months premature, weighing a mere 1 pound 12 ounces. When he was allowed to
come home he was brought in a shoe box. He was so tiny that he slept in a
dresser drawer.
As a young man, a proud Zebra, graduating from
Randy, known by his best friends as "Munchkin,"
proved that size doesn't matter. Overcoming many odds he was dealt, Randy
answered with a positive attitude, highly motivated to persevere with grace and
style. With his hustle, work ethic and common sense and great desire to help
others he was an example for all to follow. He accomplished many things in his
life of 57 years - and his influence was one of his greatest gifts - leaving a
rippling effect to all of the lives he touched.
As a 32-year member of the Fulton County Emergency
Management Association, Randy was currently serving as communications chief. He
also served the Fulton County CB Club as president for a number of years. Randy
was also a member of the
A collector of die cast cars of the 1950s to 1970s, Randy
also loved the music of Jan and Dean and the Beach Boys. In the early years it
was Randy who enjoyed the camaraderie of sharing the daily events at Hardee's
over coffee. More recently the coffee guys enjoy talking over the events of the
day at Wendy's. Randy was always there in the thick of things.
Following his graduation from RHS he attended the Elkhart
Workshop for the Blind. Randy was recognized for his ability to motivate his
classmates by common sense. His solid work ethic was also noted - as a hustler
and the go to man to get the job done!
Randy was a man of many talents. Early on in his career he
worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Cedar Post Restaurant. He was also a
dispatcher for the Rochester Police Department. As a bookkeeper he worked for
RSVP and the Area V Council on Aging. As a mechanic he helped Jack Utter
repairing mopeds and bicycles. Later utilizing his small engine repair skills,
he opened a shop in his garage and repaired mowers and other small engines.
Randy always kept busy helping others with a variety of odd jobs, as providing
for his family was essential.
Randy was a caring and a giving human, willing to share the

suppers for charity with the proceeds directed to
